The Chinese Dormitory

The Chinese Dormitory, at the rear of the castle, is one of the many historically significant buildings on the estate and is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. The Great Hall has the all the authentic ambience of a 155-year-old winery, with its original brick walls and floor and huge turn-of-the-century oak casks, which are still used today for storing and maturing our fortified treasures. It seats from 50 to 160 people, depending on the table configuration.

The Cask Hall

The Cask Hall is on the site of the original mud brick winery, which was not demolished until the castle was completed in about 1880. Many of the bricks used in the walls, columns and floors of the cask hall were fired on the property. This impressive large hall has barrels lining the walls, which contain maturing port, muscat and Muscadelle. It definitely provides the perfect ambiance for a memorable event.
