A new release for Father's Day
Nick Brown: “A wine that’s particularly special to me and my sisters. Pierre was created for dad’s 60th birthday in January 2005. We named it Pierre as dad was nicknamed Pierre by mates back in his school days. He loved a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet blend. If you were lucky enough to have dad cook for you, his one and only dish was ‘steak on a plate’, and to accompany that was a glass of Cabernet. A simple pleasure, done exceptionally well.”
Peter Brown had always wanted to produce a wine that was a perfect blend of the traditional Bordeaux grape varieties; Cabernet Sauvignon (51%), Merlot (24%) and Cabernet Franc (25%). Each of these varieties brings something special to the blend. The Cabernet Sauvignon brings lovely berry flavours and fine tannins, the Merlot brings a rich mid-palate, and the Cabernet Franc provides the lifted floral notes.
Celebrating Dad with an afternoon of music, wine, and good times. Acoustic soloist, Luke Dewing, hits the stage from 12-4pm at St Leonards Vineyard on the Murray River. Entry is free! The Cellar Door will be open from 10am-5pm for tasting and bottle sales. The St Leonards Kitchen will be open from 12-3pm. Bookings for lunch are essential.
A two-pack of our two-signature fortifieds – a Muscat and Muscadelle – is the perfect thank you for dads with a sweet tooth.
Rutherglen Muscat known for its characteristics of spiced fruit, molasses, and roasted hazelnuts, together with a Muscadelle, which has golden amber colours, with cold leaf tea characters with a luscious palate of malty toffee and vanilla flavours.
As a serving idea, tell dad to chill it and enjoy with a cheeseboard or over ice-cream as an affogato. Also goes well with a pair of woolly socks if you can't give up that gift-giving tradition.
Gift cards are a quick and generous option, sure to please even the fussiest of dads. Purchase a physical gift card and we will express post the card to your dad. For those of you who have left it little late, electronic cards are also an option.
Gift cards be redeemed at any of our venues including St Leonards Vineyard and All Saints Estate (both will deliver wine to dad’s door), Thousand Pound Wine Bar (his Friday night dinner sorted) or at Mount Ophir Estate (for a relaxing weekend away). Allowing them to choose the wine experience they want, their way.
