Changing of the Guard at Terrace Restaurant

04 May 2021

All Saints Estate is excited to announce Kyle Ferguson is stepping into the position of Head Chef. Kyle has worked under the expert tutelage of Simon Arkless for four years and will now drive our culinary offerings at Terrace Restaurant, Indigo Food Co, Thousand Pound Wine Bar and St Leonards Kitchen.

Simon, who has been at the helm of our kitchens for eight and a half years is stepping down, as is his partner (in life and work), Cait Mitchelhill. Simon and Cait's last day will be Mother's Day, and they leave a considerable legacy. Cait has run our front-of-house operations to enormous success, and Simon helped to place Rutherglen on the culinary map in Victoria.

Great wine demands great food, but before Simon, Rutherglen had not traditionally been a 'fine food' stop. In his first year as Head Chef, Simon achieved a 'one hat' with the Good Food Guide, which was a huge achievement.

We have had a long and incredible experience with Simon and Cait's expertise but are also excited about the future. The Terrace team is energetic and young and have benefited from excellent training. Head Chef Kyle has a creative insight into food, loves creating new dishes and is incredibly passionate about regional produce.

This change at Terrace comes after the recent funding announcement that All Saints Estates will receive $500,000 of funding support to renovate and expand visitor experiences. Because of the fantastic success of our hospitality business, we are confident to invest in the future of our region, and so is the Victorian government.

Simon and Cait will take some time out to decide their next steps, but we wish them well. We hope our Wine Royalty members and regulars will book for lunch at Terrace on their last weekend (8-9 May) to say goodbye. Let's raise a glass together then.Book Now!
