Line up of 2016 new release wines

We are busy getting ready for when the weather starts to warm up here in the North East. The days are getting longer and as we get past those cold dark nights, we're looking for a chilled refreshing wine to drink as we unwind.

For the All Saints Estate label, we have the new release Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Moscato and Rosa. The St Leonards label has the Semillon Sauvignon Blanc and the Muscadello for release also at this time. These wines are all ready to be enjoyed immediately but a few of them do have short-term cellaring potential.

2016 All Saints Estate Riesling

The Riesling is the surprise in this line-up, since it can be enjoyed young with its vibrant fresh citrus and delicate crisp acid taste. However, with medium- to long-term cellaring, it develops intense honey notes, adding an exquisite complexity and richness whilst retaining its delicate acidity.

Food match: Fresh seafood is always a terrific option with a younger Riesling. Try it with freshly shucked oysters or pan fried whiting.

2016 All Saints Estate Pinot Grigio

The Pinot Grigio has lifted aromas of pear and apple with a textural finish. It is a lovely balanced wine and can be enjoyed both with or without food.

Food match: Light pasta dishes and crunchy salads are a terrific match with Pinot Grigio as is charcuterie and antipasto platters.

2016 All Saints Estate Chardonnay

The Chardonnay has a beautiful varietal fruit intensity with melon and peach notes. There is a fresh clean finish and it is a terrific example of unoaked Chardonnay.

Food match: Steamed or grilled fish accompanied by a fresh salad is a perfect partner with our Chardonnay

Fruitier wine styles

The Chenin Blanc, Moscato and Muscadello have a perfect balance of sweetness to enhance the varietal flavours and complement their wine style; these wines are best to drink now.

Food match: Fruitier style wines that are slightly frizzante are terrific party starters and are a great match with savoury style appetisers such as light cheeses, as well as desserts like the iconic pavlova.

2016 All Saints Estate Rosa

The Rosa is a beautiful example of a dry rosé, with its pale salmon pink colour, delicate red berry notes and a lovely crisp, savoury finish.

Food match: Long afternoons are best accompanied by a bottle of Rosa and an antipasto platter of cured meats, preserved vegetables and hard cheeses.

2016 St Leonards Vineyard Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

The Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend has the perfect balance between the Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc varieties. It has the aromatics of melon and passion fruit with a delicate herbaceous finish on the palate.

Food match: Grilled or BBQ seafood with a hint of chilli and fresh herbs is a wonderful match.

These wines are a true reflection of the 2016 vintage and highlight the terrific ripening conditions we had, which have resulted in highly aromatic crisp balanced wines ready to be savoured and enjoyed with family and friends.
